Lunch with Friends

Tate and Debbie were in Indiana for Christmas and came up to Grand Rapids for a visit! We all met at Amy's for lunch. The one toy Amy has happens to be a giant stuffed Elmo (Abbi loves Elmo). Sorry, i caught you mid-bite, Derek.

Amy, Debbie, Margo, and me. It was great to catch up!!

Camping in April!

Another great weekend with friends. We stayed in one of the cabins at the Holland State Park. The cabin was nice (aside from the fresh varnish smell) and cozy. Here are the girls: Julie, Amy, and Kristin (and "Kramy", my unborn daughter, whose created name sounds very familiar to "Kristin and Amy"... hmmm...)

A gorgeous blue sky by Big Red:

The whole group at the end of the pier: (it was a little windy, okay... a LOT windy!).

Clementines in South Haven

Tate and Debbie were up in Indiana last week for Jon's wedding. "Congratulations Jon and Debbie!" Derek and I were able to meet them in South Haven for dinner one night. It has been so cold here (umm, all summer and fall basically) so I think these Texans were a little chilly. :) We ate at Clementines and then walked downtown and to the pier, to the BEACH. Right, Tate? Michigan DOES have beaches. :) Anyway, it was great to see you guys. We miss you already!

Yeah, I came right from school so I am definitely wearing a skirt and black tights. I know, I know...

A Rainy Day With a Friend

It's a been raining here all day. It was still warmer out today but rained all day (yesterday was so warm and sunny that I laid out and got a little bit of a tan!). It was so good to open all the windows and get fresh air throughout the house and hear the rain and thunder. Tonight was fun too. Amy came over! We just spent time hanging out, getting crafty, talking, eating pizza, and watching a movie. It was a quiet evening that I really needed. We should do this more often! I even took a picture so I could blog about it for you girls:
FYI: Amy informed me of a possible trip to Haiti at Christmas time. I hear Debbie is thinking about it; I'm maybe interested... Jes?

Announcing Mr. and Mrs. Joyner!

What a beautiful wedding, beautiful weekend, and beautiful couple! Pictures say more than words so I'll keep it very brief. This is the family praying around the couple at the rehearsal.

Party time at the rehearsal dinner. We're just CHILLIN' here right Amy?
Some royal treatment for the princess:

We love you Mrs. Joyner!!

It's here!

Yay! I was so excited to get my mail today because Debbie's invitation came! It's really sharp, Debbie. I like it... and Tate doesn't have a middle name? My dad doesn't either. Many times he gets mailings and his middle name is my mom's name: James Pamela VZ...

So here's to you guys: Deborah Dawn and Tate Deborah!

Oh, yeah, I need to color my eyebrow again. Sorry about the picture, I had just come in from mowing the lawn.

Do you like the wall words I added to my dining room? It was really easy (just a sticker) and we've been meaning to put something on that wall, we just didn't know what. Amy's making me dinner tomorrow and we're going to try on the dresses and maybe go shoe shopping. Maybe we'll take a picture for you girls...

Oh, you have to check out the wedding website too. The engagement pictures are so cute!! (I'm not so sure about the large Texas flag painted on the building, but I guess everything's big in Texas...). Really, really cute though. Tate, you're so lucky.

Yup, this was a random posting. Back to grading papers... (sigh).

Stayin' in Touch

Well, here it goes, girls... I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but I'm going to try it. Since we're no longer living within 500 sq. ft. of each other (yay, Eldersveld!) but rather all spread out across the GLOBE, I'm hoping this will help us keep in touch. You know, all those silly, crazy things that made us "suite sisters" in the first place...

So, do you think we've changed since then?
